(Photo taken 2009 when I acquired the car)
Today I took a break to work on a website for me and the cars. Well I guess technically just "car" since we only have the one right now. Take a moment for myself and talk about the journey in the making.
Before my dad passed away, when I was in middle and the early years of high school we would talk about collecting cars and restoring them for car shows. Digging through some of his old books today I found a shopping list for his 1968 Impala SS that he had. We watched the car shows and car auctions online. And he'd always point out the cars he liked, the rare cars, and the ones he'd want if he ever had a chance to. When I was younger I enjoyed cars, but never as much as he did, mostly because he lived through those years. When the car came home with me in 2009 after he passed away, I admit I couldn't touch it. This car IS my father and we have so many memories in this car. I'm not the only one, my father shared memories with everyone else.
I've always liked cars. I see old cars cruising down the high way and I have to look at them. I haven't had a chance to go to any car shows lately but we used to go all the time. I've owned a few cars since I started driving at 16 (almost 16 years ago) a few of those cars I sold and want back SO BAD. No matter what happened in my life, cars were always art to me. A beautiful blend of beauty and power. Originally I wasn't going to make this website but I had planned to make the blog. It wasn't until talking with a few car people, and a lot of women who said I should do it. So I did partially to help me remember the journeys because I have a really bad memory, and partially to be motivational to any women out there who think they can't do it because they're girls.
So here we are... starting this journey.
