I Found GOLD!

(Picture taken same day)

We bought the fuel pump to do put into the Impala today, but of course something has to come up which prevents me from getting anything done. Originally when we moved Ezamo to this location, the trunk wouldn't close. After spraying down the lock with WD-40 it worked! So we closed it. Now it won't open and our tools are in there. So, that's postponed for a minute.

You can see in the photo that I wanted to get something done while I was there. Ended up giving him a bath, the further I got to scrubbing him down the more paint fell off. So I took a sanding block that I used for another car and started randomly sanding and found gold! I don't know if I mentioned it before but we looked up the information on the cowl tag and found that the car was originally manufactured in the Champagne Gold with the Jade interior. So finding gold wasn't that much of a surprise at this point.

Of course I did this without really looking into the process, so other than getting all the mildew off the car, I haven't really done much but clean it. At this point I'm probably going to sand the surface rust off and spray it with a light paint just to keep it from rusting again.

We will be moving the car again to is semi permanent resting spot here in the next couple weeks. I'll be able to start tearing it down and rebuilding it. We're getting close.
